Meet the Maker

Hi, I'm Lani, the maker behind Lani Jewellery. I make one of a kind fine jewellery, inspired by the shapes, textures, and moments of the natural world. Each piece is handmade in my South London studio and is a celebration of craftsmanship. I work with recycled metals and ethically sourced stones to create jewellery for those who want something meaningful, pieces that reflect who they are and what they care about. Lani Jewellery is about marking moments with something personal, wearable and lasting - future heirlooms made by hand.

The Journey

From a young age, I wore jewellery as an act of rebellion, a way to express myself, to claim individuality, and tap into my creativity in a world that often expected conformity. Growing up in a family of prop and set builders and being in my parents' workshop constantly from the age of about two weeks old, I have been immersed in the world of creative entrepreneurs my whole life.

My journey into jewellery making began in India in 2018, when I stumbled upon a macramé necklace workshop, and I was instantly hooked on the process of making wearable art. I experimented with many different techniques over the next few years, from macramé to wire wrapping to traditional silversmithing, but it was when I found the ancient technique of lost wax casting, which dates back 6,500 years, that my designs really came to life.

It’s a process that has allowed me to make freely and intuitively, capturing nature’s imperfections and giving the organic feel to my jewellery that I had always envisioned. I focus on crafting fine jewellery that breaks away from traditional sleek and symmetrical styles, offering something raw, personal, and distinctive.

Lani Jewellery is for those who haven’t yet seen their style reflected in fine jewellery, offering pieces that resonate with individuality and an appreciation for nature's imperfections. With a commitment to sustainability and ethical practices, Lani Jewellery honours the world that inspires it, creating uncommon treasures that are as meaningful to the wearer as they are gentle on the earth.
