Sourcing Materials

By giving new life to existing materials, we tread lightly on the world that inspires our pieces. Every decision, from design to packaging, reflects our commitment to slow, sustainable making.

The Jewellery industry hasn’t always been known for transparency, but I aim to share as much information as I can. As a small business, honesty matters and sustainability and ethical practices are at the heart of Lani Jewellery.

Taking inspiration from the natural world means I must do my part to also protect it, along with its people.

I’m not perfect. Right now, it's just me behind every part of this business, and choosing to do things sustainably takes more time and money and as Lani Jewellery grows, so will our efforts to do better for the planet and its people

Commitments

  • I create slowly, intentionally and in small batches. Each piece is designed to be treasured, not thrown away. Made to last for years, and hopefully be passed down through generations.

  • I work with 100% recycled metals and consciously source my gemstones from trusted suppliers. Most stones are mine traceable or fair mined. While some older stones in my collection don't have verified origins, I'm committed to ethical sourcing for all new materials.

  • All outer packaging is recyclable or compostable, designed to tread lightly on the earth that inspires my pieces. My standard and premium boxes are made by small, independent makers, not mass produced in large factories. Supporting thoughtful, small scale production.
